Brewhouse Yard Volunteer (Brewhouse Yard Volunteer)
We need a team of committed volunteers who can give a Saturday or Sunday most weeks to help to run a unique social history museum which reflect Nottingham’s industrial and rebellious past.
Our volunteers will be the friendly faces who welcome and engage visitors, answering their questions, and revealing the history and stories of Brewhouse Yard: Life beneath Castle Rock.
This is an opportunity to volunteer in a truly unique social history museum which tells the stories of some of the people who lived on this site and explores its rich history, especially in relation to the textiles trade.
There have been buildings on this two-acre site since at least 1217 when it was on the banks of the River Leen. Among those residing in Brewhouse Yard were brewing workers, framework knitters, tailors, clock workers, shearmen and dyers.
Hours are 11am – 4pm.
