Wildlife Monitor
Do you want to make a valuable contribution to local knowledge of Nottingham wildlife?
We are looking for passionate volunteers to conduct wildlife monitoring at our local nature reserves and in other areas of valuable habitat, and you do not have to be an expert!
If you enjoy watching wildlife or learning new things, then this could be the role for you as it gives you the opportunity to explore and discover new areas or species of Nottingham. Depending on your experience or knowledge, we ask that volunteers record their sighting either by;
- Keeping an excel spreadsheet transect which can be emailed to our Park Rangers.
- Download the iRecord app or https://www.brc.ac.uk/irecord/ . This ensures that your sightings are accurate (both automatic checks are completed, and experts can review your sightings) and are shared with both the biodiversity team here at Nottingham City Council but national recording schemes. This information will make a real difference to local knowledge and help us to plan our conservation efforts. Whether you have a passion for a certain nature reserve or plants, invertebrates, mammals or just nature in general.
