Park Champion

Opportunity image

As one of our Park Champions you could be the eyes, ears and helping hands at your local park or green space. We are looking for volunteers who take pride in their local area who can help keep areas tidy and litter free, report issues and keep visitors up to date by replacing posters in notice boards.

We are looking for enthusiastic people who want to help us care for their local park or green space and want to make them as inviting as possible to others. We know our parks and open spaces have been a lifeline to citizens during lockdown, ensuring they can get fresh air, exercise and have a place to relax and unwind.

You can pick your local park or your favourite park, but we just ask that you attend regularly whether this be walking the dog or taking children at the weekend and it is not essential that you have experience or be interested in all aspects of the role.

This role can be undertaken at a time to suit you, although there will be opportunities to cover specific events and projects. Depending on the park you chose there may be opportunity to complete species surveys to help us with conservation planning.

We need you to help us be the eyes and ears of the park and make them as inviting as possible to visitors so they can continue to enjoy our open spaces.

Once you have signed up we will contact you to discuss your preferences and put you in touch with your local manager to discuss tasks and will let you know of upcoming task days that you can join
